The English Literary Society, Department of English, Dyal Singh College (M) organised their annual festival- Madrigal 2023 to celebrate a shared passion and dedication for literature on 5th and 6th April.
In this literary festival spanning two days, a diversity of competitions were conducted such as Microtale, Blackout, Creative Writing, Cover Redesign and more.
Following the spectrum of the Victorian and Romantic era, the Cosplay event acted as a merging point for dressing up and vintage aesthetics among the participants on the first day. On the second day, Slam Poetry and Treasure Hunt were the main highlights of the event. Apart from these contests, several cultural and western dance & music performances were organised to hype the audience to another level.
While the events and performances were going on, various stalls were set up outside the college amphitheatre where people indulged themselves in shopping sprees. From the aroma of beautiful candles sponsored by Mirra Store to the craze of Harry Styles-inspired jewellery sponsored by Earthly Beads, the stalls witnessed a great footfall of the students and teachers alike. In order to avoid heat strokes, one of the major sponsors of the festival, Coffeeshala, came to the rescue.
Altogether, the two day-festival brought together all the literature aficionados towards the celebration of literary culture and trends!
