Truth Behind the Feed: A Research Perspectives Challenge is an online research competition for college students across India, focused on the growing challenge of social media misinformation.
In this challenge, participants will select a subtopic related to misinformation, conduct independent research, explore multiple perspectives, and develop an original, evidence-based research report. Participants may explore topics such as AI-generated deepfakes, fake news, health misinformation, financial scams, influencers, social media algorithms, echo chambers, or the impact of misinformation on youth.
How the Competition Works
Participants first register on the EvePaper platform and then submit their research report within the given submission window.
Participants must submit an 800–1,200 word PDF report containing:
- An introduction to the selected topic
- At least two research-supported perspectives
- Evidence and analysis based on credible sources
- An informed conclusion with practical recommendations
- A minimum of 5 credible references
Evaluation
Every submission will undergo preliminary screening before being evaluated by the organizing team. Entries will be judged on research quality, critical thinking and analysis, evidence and referencing, clarity, originality, and communication.
The challenge is not simply about having an opinion — it is about finding credible evidence, understanding different viewpoints, thinking critically, and building a well-supported argument.
