XIM Bhubaneswar hosts XIM MUN’ 25

XIM MUN 2025: A Celebration of Diplomacy and Critical Thinking

XIM MUN, the flagship event of Xpressions 2025 at the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, was held from January 17-19, 2025. Organized by SpeakUp, the Oratory Committee, the event showcased critical thinking, diplomacy, and global awareness. This edition featured three committees:

  • UNHRC, chaired by Sual Sharma, addressing human rights.
  • UNGA DISEC, led by Sanat Puri, focusing on disarmament and international security.
  • International Press, co-chaired by Sneha Shruti Roy and Aditya Rath, responsible for capturing the event’s proceedings.

The opening ceremony, hosted by the organizing committee, set the stage for three days of diplomatic debates and collaboration. It featured committee introductions, agenda overviews, and an inspiring address by Rishav Chandra Pathak, the student coordinator of SpeakUp. The ceremony underscored the importance of diplomacy and global engagement, motivating participants to embark on a meaningful and purposeful journey.

UNHRC

The UNHRC Committee at XIM MUN 2025 provided a platform to address genocide, focusing on prevention, human rights violations, and actionable solutions. Delegates examined historical and ongoing cases, evaluated international mechanisms, and explored moral, legal, and political dimensions through debates and resolutions. The discussions emphasized proactive measures to safeguard human dignity.

UNGA DISEC

The UNGA DISEC Committee, chaired by Sanat Puri, engaged delegates in intense debates on disarmament and international security. Delegates presented and defended policies with persuasive rhetoric and strategic alliances, navigating conflicting viewpoints while highlighting the complexities of global diplomacy.

Organized Excellence

SpeakUp delivered a meticulously planned and intellectually enriching experience, providing participants with a platform to debate, negotiate resolutions, and hone their leadership and public speaking skills.

The event was sponsored by Club First Robotics and Monginis, whose support brought innovation and celebration to XIM MUN 2025. Monginis added a fun and interactive element by organizing a cake-baking event for students, further enhancing the event’s success.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony of XIM MUN 2025 was graced by Prof. D.V. Ramana and included an inspiring keynote address by the Guest of Honor, Mr. Bismaya Mohapatra, founder of Harsha Trust and an alumnus of XIM Bhubaneswar. The event concluded with the distribution of delegate awards, marking a successful and memorable end to the three-day event.
